District Governor Award Criteria - Prerequisites for Awards Application at District Information
Time passes quickly and we are crossing the threshold of the second half of our fiscal year. First half of our fiscal year was full of excitement and challenges whereby Lions in our District were busy with the schedules of installations of presidents and boards of directors, inducting new members, charter anniversary celebrations and conducting community services.
We wish to express our appreciation to many Lion Leaders who had organised and initiated many district initiate activities, such as Certified Lions Course, Lion-Leo Advisors Seminar, Key Officers Schools and Orientation for Potential Lions. Thanks also to those Clubs’ Key Officers and Members who fulfilled the commitment to our international goals of “Trees Planting Program”, “Sight-first Program”, “Reading Action Program” and many Environmental Protection Programs. Syabas to all!!!
Our District Bulletin’s 1st edition was published and released on 20th October 2013. For those of you who did not have the access of the hard copy, you can also download from this website, under “District & Club’s e-Bulletin” section. Members are hereby welcomed to forward their clubs’ activities and photographs to District Chairperson for Bulletin for the publication of the 2nd edition which is scheduled to release on mid January 2014.
We also wish to highlight to those clubs and individuals who have contributed to help the Cameron Highlands Mud Flood victims. We are thankful for your cash and kinds that will surely relief the sufferings faced by those disaster victims. Lions’ works are borderless and colourless for the unfortunates and we hereby wish to express our gratitude to District Governor Lau Teng Chye from District 308 B1 for extending their helping hands to our Cameron Highlands disaster victims.
Lions clubs throughout the world are working diligently to provide relief aids and foodstuffs to tens of thousands of people affected by the recent super typhoon ‘Haiyan’ which devastated the Philippines’ islands of Tacloban, Leyte and Samar, including the collection and distribution of life-saving equipment to the surviving victims. As Lions, it is our objective to assist all surviving victims of calamities. Our district, in response to IP Barry Palmer’s appeal, has immediately established district-wide fund-raising campaigns for the victims. In order to encourage more fund campaigning activities, the District Awards Committee wishes to recognise those clubs and individual lions that have contributed or collected the highest monetary sums during their fund raising campaigns.
